Stopped by Pun Choon Noodle shop at Bidor, Perak on the way back from a weekend trip to Ipoh.
The Famous Coffee Shop or "Kopitiam" in Ipoh that serves a very nice glass of Iced White Coffee. Went there with a group of friends in Mar 2014 for breakfast. If you want to experience local breakfast with a rustic "kopitiam" atmosphere, that is the place to be.

Yong Sheng Gift Shop, New Branch USJ Taipan - Subang

Some of you may have heard of them before but this shop is relatively new to us. To our surprise they have been around since 1952 in Muar, Johor. Gosh! Where were we all these years?? They mainly concentrated their business in the southern region. We were glad they came and set foot in Taipan USJ Subang. This is not your regular gift shop. We were treated like VVIP the moment we stepped in. We were allowed to sample their varieties of moon cakes as we take our time to sipped our tea. The promoters were not 'pushy' with their products instead they allowed us take our time to think over the selection. We were happy just being there :)

Pretty in Pink.

This young lady were cutting moon cakes for us to sample. She totally accommodated us that very day. Thank you :)

Tough choice... Selection time!

After all the sampling, the time has come for us to choose our moon cakes. It was tough as they were all de-li-ci-ous!! We got some help from the staffs... Our final 4 pick were:

Lemon Green Tea Moon Cake (2009 New Flavor) = RM12.50 per piece

Nyonya Sambal Moon Cake (2009 New Salty Taste Flavor) = RM12.50 per piece

White Lotus Paste Moon Cake (Specially Recommended - Sugar & Cholesterol Free) = RM15.65 per piece

Traditional Flavor (Mix Fruits & Nuts)
= RM12.00 per piece

Mooncake packaging.

2001 & 2002 International Mode Selection Awards Winner. Egg yolk pies anyone? This is highly recommended. I was told by their staff that this pies are they specialties and its placed right in front of the shop. Its hard to miss it. Its also hard to believe that anything that looks so good on the outside can really taste that great on the inside. I did not cut the pie into half because I have NO intention on sharing it with anyone. :) All I can say is the yolk is whole means huge-huge and the lotus paste is not too sweet. Just nice for my moderate sweet tooth. I just simple loved it! Per box is RM32.80 (6 pieces). The price is rather steep... but look at the bright side. You can keep the container for your trinkets.

A gorgeous 'moon blossom' gift set. Comes with 4 pieces of Premier moon cakes, 2 pieces of pineapple tarts and a box of egg rolls. Perfect as a gift for anyone. I bought one set for my aunt. Per box is RM58.oo only. 2 boxes for RM88.00 only (Promo price).

This is something different and the taste is rather exquisite...Mushroom sambal pies. I have never heard of such combination but this works out really great. The best way to eat this... Get your knife and cut the pie into half and wait for the aromatic smell of the 'sambal belacan' to ooze out into the atmosphere. Ahhh!.... nice. Comes in 2 stripes (4 pieces) with an attention killer packaging. Per box is RM30.80 only.

Choose either 2 pieces or 4 pieces of moon cakes. Take a pick on the various choices of packaging ready for the take away.

Wanna know more about them.

A little help goes a longggg way...just do it !!

Left : Marc and GR.
Right : GR's Fresh blood - 450ml.

Blood and Organ donation by CDM Church, Shah Alam.

This drive was organized by the 'Single Ministry' from CDM Church.
Banners were everywhere reminding us to lend a hand for this cause. GR jumped at the opportunity after church service. By the way, he's passionate towards this drive. We headed upstairs to St. Faustina hall and the place were packed with donors. The wait was rather short and few moments later..... up he goes onto the chair. A few good painless 'pricks' from the nurse and 'walla' a bag full of fresh blood 450ml ready for the blood bank. At another corner was the organ donation drive. I went for that instead. I had always wanted to support this drive but never seems to get it done. So this was my opportunity that I can't turn down. I was also encouraged to see children as young as 9-10 years old doing their bit for this cause with their parents by their side. Many would want their parts as it is when they are gone (no butchering) but it makes no difference to me. I am proud to hold the 'Gift of Life' card in my wallet. The point is no matter which cause you are passionate about you can lend your hand. It is important to know that you CAN make a DIFFERENCE in saving life. We are proud to make that difference today at CDM Church.
